A Matter of Survival

Our survival will come down to how agile our minds are.

Humanity has many problems to solve – climate change, social inequality, the threat of war, political instability, to name a few.

These problems raise serious question marks over our survival. We have the potential to venture into the solar system and establish colonies on other planets. But we also have the potential to destroy the human project altogether. Which of these two paths we take depends on two issues. First, how creative we are in adapting to changes, creating new ideas, and shaping our environment. Second, how successful we are at correcting errors and limiting destructive forces.

These are two very real pathways. We might find it hard to imagine but 99% of all species that have ever lived are now extinct. Extinction is the normal pathway. The only way we will avoid it is by using our creativity and our knowledge very wisely.

Our survival It will come down to the creativity of the human mind and our ability to find new solutions to the problems we face. AI is not going to determine which pathway we take.

And it’s the same in business. Every business fights for survival in a rapidly changing world that guarantees no one’s survival. To survive, everyone who joins together in an enterprise needs to be adaptable, able to keep up with the constant flow of information, able to solve problems and correct errors.
